We require a Freelance Site Manager, who will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of works across multiple live areas within an operational HMP prison. The role requires a proactive, hands-on Site Manager with strong experience in construction and fire safety improvements, ensuring works are delivered safely, securely, and to programme.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day site activities across multiple live prison areas
- Take direct responsibility for fire safety improvements, including builders’ work and fire door installations
- Maintain full compliance with health & safety, fire safety, and prison regulations
- Coordinate labour, subcontractors, and liaison with prison authorities
- Drive site productivity through a visible, hands-on presence on site
Working Hours:
7:00am – 5:00pm
Essential Requirements:
- Valid CSCS Card
- SMSTS certification
- First Aid qualification
- Proven Site Manager experience within construction
- Strong background in fire safety works, including fire doors and associated builders’ work
- Previous experience working in a live HMP prison environment (essential)
- Hands-on approach with a strong on-site presence
