We are looking for a reliable, confident, and customer focused Relief Security Officer to join our team at a busy shopping centre in Hastings.
This is a varied and rewarding role where no two shifts are the same.
You will play a key part in maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for shoppers, visitors, tenants, and staff.
As a Relief Officer, you will provide flexible cover across a range of duties including front line customer service, incident management, and control room operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing a visible and professional security presence throughout the shopping centre.
- Delivering excellent customer service and assisting members of the public with enquiries.
- Monitoring CCTV systems and reporting suspicious activity.
- Operating within the control room and responding to alarms, incidents, and emergencies.
- Managing and recording security incidents accurately and professionally.
- Conducting patrols of internal and external areas.
- Liaising with centre management, retailers, emergency services, and contractors when required.
- Assisting with conflict management and incident resolution.
- Ensuring all health, safety, and security procedures are followed at all times.
- Producing clear and concise incident reports and handover notes.

Essential Requirements
- Valid SIA Door Supervisor Licence.
- Ability to work 12 hour shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and public holidays.
- Previous experience in a customer facing security role.
- Full right to work in the UK.
Desirable
- SIA CCTV Public Space Surveillance Licence (highly advantageous).
- Previous control room experience.
- Experience working in a shopping centre, retail, or public facing environment.
- First Aid qualification.
