We are seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee construction and fire safety improvements across multiple live prison areas at HMP Waylands. The role will require a strong background in construction management, with a focus on ensuring health and safety compliance, managing day-to-day production, and coordinating teams on-site. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working in a live prison environment and a deep understanding of the unique challenges it presents.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily site operations on the construction and fire safety improvement works in multiple live prison areas
- Ensure full health and safety compliance on-site, including risk assessments, tool-box talks, and adherence to HSE standards
- Manage subcontractors, labor, and resources to meet project timelines and production targets
- Monitor and report progress to senior management, ensuring work is completed to the highest standards
- Ensure that all fire safety improvements are carried out according to regulations and client specifications
- Coordinate closely with prison authorities to manage access, security, and logistical challenges
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with site regulations and safety protocols
- Maintain a clear line of communication with the client and stakeholders, including addressing any issues or concerns promptly
- Ensure a safe working environment by implementing and enforcing strict HSE protocols and emergency procedures

Essential Requirements
- CSCS Card (Site Manager Level)
- SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certification
- First Aid certification
- Proven experience working in a live prison environment

- Excellent knowledge of health and safety regulations, with the ability to enforce them effectively
