We are recruiting a Freelance Intermediate Quantity Surveyor for our client, a large Developer / Contractor. The Package Surveyor will be expected to provide commercial management and cost control support on a major mixed-use development in Greenwich, currently at fit-out stage. The project comprises a 16-storey residential tower, commercial space, and associated infrastructure works. The role will focus on the management of allocated trade packages, ensuring commercial performance and contractual compliance through to project completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage designated fit-out and finishing packages from procurement through to final account.
  • Prepare and administer subcontract orders, valuations, variations, and payment recommendations.
  • Monitor package costs, forecasts, and cash flow, reporting on risks and opportunities.
  • Assess and agree subcontractor accounts and change control.
  • Support monthly cost reporting and project forecasting requirements.
  • Work closely with site, technical, and commercial teams to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Assist with value engineering and cost-saving initiatives while maintaining quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate commercial records and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.

Key Requirements

  • Previous experience as an Intermediate or Package Surveyor within residential or mixed-use construction.
  • Experience managing subcontract packages on large-scale developments.
  • Strong understanding of fit-out, finishing trades, and commercial management processes.
  • Knowledge of JCT contracts and subcontract administration.
  • Strong numerical, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced project environment.
