Overview
We are seeking an experienced Building Services Manager to join our team on a permanent basis, delivering projects across the education and residential sectors.
The successful candidate will take responsibility for managing all Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) services from pre-construction through to commissioning and handover. This role would suit someone with a strong background in schools and residential developments, experienced in coordinating consultants, subcontractors and ensuring technical compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all M&E packages across education and residential schemes
- Manage design coordination between consultants and subcontractors
- Review drawings, specifications and technical submissions
- Ensure services installations meet programme, budget and quality standards
- Monitor commissioning, testing and handover processes
- Ensure full compliance with building regulations and statutory requirements
- Attend design team and client meetings
- Work closely with Project Managers, Site Managers and Commercial teams
- Manage subcontractor performance and technical queries
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Building Services Manager within a main contractor environment
- Strong background delivering schools and/or residential projects
- Excellent understanding of mechanical and electrical systems
- Experience with commissioning and handover procedures
- Strong technical and coordination skills
- Good commercial awareness
- SMSTS (desirable)
- CSCS (Black or relevant card)
Desirable
- Experience working on DfE school frameworks
- Knowledge of BREEAM requirements
- Experience in both new build and refurbishment projects
