We are recruiting a Freelance Project Manager who will be responsible for the successful delivery of a large-scale residential development comprising a traditional build high-rise tower block and multiple timber frame housing units. The role covers full project lifecycle management from pre-construction through to handover.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate all phases of the project (planning, procurement, construction, completion)
  • Manage delivery of:
  • Traditional build tower block
  • Timber frame housing packages (offsite + onsite assembly)
  • Develop and maintain programme, ensuring milestones and deadlines are met
  • Oversee budgets, cost control, and reporting
  • Manage contractors, subcontractors, and supply chain performance
  • Ensure compliance with HSE, CDM regulations, and quality standards
  • Coordinate design teams, resolving technical and buildability issues
  • Interface with clients, local authorities, and stakeholders
  • Monitor risk, implement mitigation strategies
  • Ensure smooth integration between different construction methods on site
  • Lead project meetings and reporting
  • Key Requirements

    • Proven experience delivering large residential schemes (£XXm+)
    • Strong knowledge of:
    • Traditional concrete frame / high-rise construction
    • Timber frame / MMC housing systems
  • Excellent programme and cost management skills
  • Strong understanding of UK building regulations and CDM
  • Experience managing mixed-method construction sites
  • Degree or equivalent in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or similar
  • Professional membership (e.g., CIOB, RICS) desirable
