We are seeking an Assistant Site Manager (Externals) to support the Site Manager and Project Manager in the day-to-day management of all external works. The successful candidate will help oversee subcontractors, ensure quality standards, manage health & safety compliance, and drive the externals package to completion within programme timelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the management and coordination of external works including groundworks, hard and soft landscaping, drainage, paving, and facades.
- Supervise subcontractors and ensure work is completed safely, to specification, and on schedule.
- Conduct regular site inspections to maintain quality assurance and health & safety compliance.
- Report progress, risks, and issues to the Site Manager and assist with site documentation and record keeping.
- Ensure all work aligns with drawings, specifications, and company standards.
- Liaise with site engineers, design teams, and subcontractors to resolve technical issues.
- Assist with snagging, handovers, and final quality checks of external areas.
Requirements
- Previous experience as an Assistant Site Manager or Section Manager on large-scale residential or mixed-use developments.
- Strong background in externals / groundworks / landscaping / façade management.
- Valid CSCS, SMSTS/SSSTS, and First Aid certificates.
- Good understanding of construction drawings and sequencing of external packages.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and to deadlines.
