About us

Mademoiselle Macaron is a luxury French macaron and confectionery brand based in Edinburgh. We make beautiful, handcrafted macarons and sell them across the UK β€” online, through corporate gifting, and for weddings and special occasions as well as for trade clients. We are a small, founder-led business with a big personality. Our brand is playfully sophisticated, a little bit of accessible luxury, and proudly French-inspired β€” and our customers genuinely love what we make. We have built something worth being proud of, and now we are looking for someone to help us shout about it properly as we embark on some ambitious growth plans. We want someone with energy, creativity, and commercial smarts to help shape what comes next.

The role

We are looking for a Senior Marketing Executive who is as comfortable writing beautiful email copy as they are reading a ROAS report. Someone who gets excited about a new product launch, knows how to build a campaign that converts, and cares about making the brand feel like the premium, joyful thing it is. You will own our day-to-day marketing activity across email, social, content, and e-commerce β€” working directly with the Marketing Director and with a paid media agency handling Meta and Google. Your job is not to babysit the agency but to be a knowledgeable, commercially sharp client who knows what good looks like and can brief and review their work confidently. If you have previously worked in an e-commerce brand, love the craft of marketing, and want a role where your work is visible and genuinely matters β€” this is it. Plus, we might fly you out to Paris…for work purposes, obviously.

What you will do

  • Email and CRM – Own our Klaviyo programme end-to-end β€” campaign planning, copywriting, segmentation, send, and analysis. Write email copy that sounds like us: warm, playful, premium, and occasionally a little bit French. Build and improve automated flows including welcome, abandoned cart, post-purchase, and win-back. Grow and look after our subscriber list with an eye on deliverability and list health.
  • Content and organic social – Plan and publish content across Instagram and other relevant channels, aligned to the campaign calendar. Create on-brand visuals using Canva β€” from social posts and stories to email headers and promotional graphics. Work with content creators for key campaigns. Spot the moments worth capturing β€” product launches, seasonal releases, behind-the-scenes, trends β€” and make them feel special. Monitor organic performance and report weekly on reach, engagement, and follower growth.
  • Campaign planning and execution – Own the marketing campaign calendar and make sure campaigns are planned, built, and live on time. Deliver integrated seasonal campaigns across email, paid, and organic β€” Father's Day, corporate gifting season, Christmas, and more. Manage campaign tasks in our daily project management software (Asana), so nothing falls through the cracks. Run post-campaign analysis and apply what you learn.
  • Shopify and e-commerce – Write and update product descriptions on Shopify β€” copy that converts and reflects the brand voice. Make basic Shopify updates including product listings, collections, and on-site content. Keep an eye on what is performing and flag opportunities to improve conversion or merchandising.
  • Paid media – Brief and review the work of our paid media agency across Meta and Google. Understand paid performance well enough to have an informed opinion β€” you will not be running campaigns yourself but you will know whether the numbers make sense. Flag when something looks off and push for answers.
  • Reporting and performance – Manage and update our weekly marketing KPI tracker. Report clearly on what worked, what did not, and what you would change. Understand the basics of CAC, ROAS, AOV, and email attribution β€” not as abstract concepts but as the measures that tell you whether your work is driving the business forward.

What we are looking for

Essential – We are looking for someone with 3 to 5 years of hands-on digital marketing experience in an e-commerce or consumer brand environment. Experience in a digital marketing role with real ownership of email and social channels. Hands-on Klaviyo experience β€” you should be able to build flows, segments, and campaigns without being shown how. Confident with Canva β€” able to produce good-looking, on-brand visuals independently. Shopify and e-commerce experience β€” you understand how an online store works and how marketing drives it. Strong copywriting skills β€” you write clearly, warmly, and in a voice that fits the brand. Experience creating content across a wide range of platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest, and YouTube as well as spotting and acting on trending content. A working understanding of Meta and Google Ads β€” you won't be managing the accounts yourself but you will need to keep the paid media agency accountable. Organised and self-directed β€” you manage your own time and your own priorities without needing to be chased. Commercially aware β€” you understand that marketing exists to drive revenue and you measure your work accordingly. Genuinely enthusiastic about brand, creativity, and building something β€” this matters as much as the technical skills. Comfortable and curious working with AI assistants (e.g. Claude, ChatGPT) to speed up content creation, data analysis and planning, and good judgement about when human craft matters more.

Desirable – Experience working in a food, gifting, luxury, or premium consumer brand. Experience with TripleWhale or a comparable e-commerce analytics platform. Experience in a small or founder-led business where you had to be resourceful. Some experience briefing or working alongside a paid media agency. Experience using Claude AI with connected business tools (Klaviyo, Asana, Shopify) to automate or accelerate marketing workflows.

What we offer

  • Real ownership β€” you will run the marketing function, not assist with it.
  • Beautiful products that people genuinely love and that makes a great gift β€” easy to be proud of and easy to talk about.
  • Direct access to the Directors and genuine input into how the brand grows.
  • A creative, supportive environment with a close knit team.
  • Flexible hybrid working that respects your time and values output.
  • The right tools to do the job properly β€” Klaviyo, Shopify, Canva, Asana, and TripleWhale.
  • The chance to shape a marketing function from the ground up at an exciting moment for the business.
  • A genuine opportunity to grow with a business.

How to apply

Send your CV and a short note to with the subject line Senior Marketing Executive Application. We do not want a standard cover letter. Instead, tell us about a piece of marketing you are genuinely proud of β€” a campaign, a piece of content, an email sequence, anything β€” what you made, why it worked, and what you would do differently. Two or three paragraphs is plenty. If you have a portfolio, a Canva project, or a brand Instagram you have worked on, share it. We will review applications on a rolling basis and will be in touch quickly with anyone we want to speak to.
