Manager: accountable for the successful delivery of complex digital projects.
Roles can include leading a small, consultancy-focused delivery, a large programme with multiple delivery teams, or several smaller engagements.
You may be the most senior escalation point or work with a delivery principal as part of a wider programme.
You embody servant leadership, promoting collaboration to deliver outcomes for users and customers.
You identify and manage risks and issues with the team and stakeholders.
You are an expert in agile delivery with pragmatic delivery approaches and team shaping tailored to each situation, including when working with public sector clients.
You build trust with senior stakeholders, coach clients, and influence continuous improvement of team processes.
You support Product Managers in defining and delivering roadmaps, monitoring progress, and facilitating backlog discussions related to priority, scope, and budget.
You are also a leader within Made Tech, contributing to the Delivery Community of Practice, managing performance and development of other delivery managers, and supporting recruitment.
You will grow Made Tech’s impact by expanding your professional network, contributing to thought leadership, and identifying new business opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Deliver successful outcomes by collaborating with internal and external stakeholders
- Provide project delivery assurance across scope, budget, and quality
- Report to Heads of Delivery weekly on quality and risk status
- Manage team resourcing to balance client delivery, team happiness, and commercial objectives
- Ensure compliance and accuracy of time sheeting, invoicing, forecasting, and delivery assurance reporting
- Ensure commercial activities (Statements of Work, PO numbers, supplier contracts for partners, IR35 assessments for contractors, staffing demands) are managed
- Support hiring activities including interviewing and outreach
- Manage Senior Delivery Managers (performance, progression, satisfaction)
- Provide regular feedback to project teams as accountable
- Grow Made Tech’s impact by supporting bids and contributing to opportunities beyond current projects
- Build relationships with stakeholders within projects and engage with experts across the organisation
- Promote Made Tech and develop personal reputation through thought leadership content and events
- Share successes and failures with the Delivery Community to evolve ways of working
- Contribute to centralised resources and templates for potential reuse
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- Commercial Awareness: articulate project financials (SOWs, Purchase Orders, Gross Profit Margin, forecasting); monitor deliverables against SOW; manage budget and burn-down
- Performance Management: address performance issues, support high performers toward promotions, manage direct and indirect reports, ensure line management compliance
- Risk and Quality Management: plan and implement risk management; ensure delivery teams follow quality practices
- Coaching and
Consultancy: coach teams on delivery approaches (Kanban, Scrum, Scaled Agile, Waterfall, XP, Design Sprints); understand Security, Dev Ops, User-Centred Design, Data Ethics; explain GDS service standard and run workshops with clients
- Trust Building: build and maintain trust with seniors, peers, juniors, and clients

- Eligibility
SC (security check) eligibility is required. 5 years of UK residency and 5 years of employment history (or back to full-time education) are needed.
