Role Profile
The Key Account Manager is responsible for delivering profitable revenue growth through the development of new customer accounts and the effective management and expansion of a defined portfolio of existing customers. This is a target driven role requiring a strong balance of new business acquisition and account growth. The post holder is expected to independently identify, pursue, and secure new opportunities aligned to the company’s core competencies, while maintaining long term customer relationships. The role carries clear performance expectations, revenue accountability, and responsibility for managing the full sales cycle from opportunity identification through to order placement.

Key Responsibilities
New Business Development (Primary Focus)
- Identify, target, and secure new customer accounts aligned with ADS Laser Cutting’s core capabilities and strategic objectives.
- Independently prospect and qualify new business opportunities using structured sales activity and CRM-driven planning.
- Work closely with Marketing to support lead generation initiatives, presentations, and campaigns.
- Collaborate with Estimating to support quotation development, commercial negotiation, and deal closure.
- Build a sustainable pipeline of new business opportunities within HubSpot.
Account Management & Growth
- Manage and develop a pre-determined portfolio of existing customer accounts.
- Build long-term, trusted relationships at multiple levels within customer organisations.
- Develop a strong understanding of customer requirements and proactively propose solutions.
- Conduct regular customer meetings to review performance, identify opportunities, and secure repeat business.
- Increase account value through structured growth plans, cross-selling, and upselling.
- Ensure customer satisfaction while maintaining commercial discipline and profitability.
CRM & Sales Process Ownership
- Maintain accurate, complete, and up-to-date records of all sales activity within HubSpot.
- Ensure all leads, enquiries, quotations, follow ups, and outcomes are logged in line with company process.
- Use CRM data to plan activity, manage pipeline, and forecast accurately.
- Support CRM data quality initiatives, including account structure, duplicate management, and record hygiene.
Sales Planning, Reporting & Forecasting
- Develop and maintain account plans for key customers and target prospects.
- Produce weekly and monthly reports covering pipeline, performance against target, and forecast accuracy.
- Analyse sales performance and trends to identify risks, opportunities, and improvement areas.
Skills, Experience & Personal Attributes

- Minimum 4 years’ experience in B2B sales with a proven track record of new business acquisition.
- Demonstrated ability to independently identify, pursue, and close customer opportunities.
- Strong understanding of the full sales cycle, from prospecting to account management.
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and influencing skills.
- Commercially astute, with a focus on margin control and profitable growth.
- Confident operating in a fast-paced, manufacturing-led environment.
