The Role
- As a CNC Machine Setter, you will play a key role in ensuring efficient production, high-quality output, and on-time delivery.
- You’ll be responsible for setting up CNC Spring Making machines, maintaining production flow, and supporting continuous improvement across the shop floor.
Key Responsibilities
- Machine Setup & Operation
- Set up CNC machines in line with specifications and quality standards.
- Install tooling and write/load and verify CNC programs.
- Work closely with Production Planning and Sales to meet delivery targets.
- Communicate delays or non-conformance issues proactively.
- Quality Assurance
- Carry out first-off and in-process inspections using appropriate equipment.
- Ensure all components meet required tolerances and specifications.
- Maintain accurate production and inspection records.
- Support corrective actions when quality issues arise.
- Production Monitoring & Improvement
- Monitor machine performance and optimise output.
- Identify opportunities to improve setup times and efficiency.
- Collaborate with colleagues to resolve technical challenges.
- Health & Safety
- Follow all Health & Safety procedures at all times.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
- Use appropriate PPE in line with risk assessments.
- Maintenance & Support
- Perform planned preventative maintenance.
- Respond quickly to breakdowns and support repairs.
- Provide guidance to operators and apprentices.
- Assist with training apprentice machine setters.
Job requirements
About You
- Proven experience in a CNC machining or manufacturing environment.
- Strong hands-on ability to set up and operate CNC machines, including installing tooling and loading/verifying CNC programs.
- Experienced in interpreting technical engineering drawings.
- A team player with strong communication skills.
- Well-organised and able to work to deadlines under pressure.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and solution-focused.
- Committed to quality and health & safety standards.
- Good literacy, numeracy, and IT skills.
- Located in commutable distance to Haworth, England, United Kingdom.
Desirable: Experience in spring manufacturing.
