MADE Careers is working with a globally recognised architecture, urbanism and design practice looking to appoint a senior Associate / Associate Director within its London Masterplanning team. Working alongside one of the industry's most respected masterplanning leaders, you'll play a key role in the design and delivery of ambitious regeneration and masterplanning projects across the UK and internationally.

The team is looking for an exceptional designer; someone with outstanding urban design instincts, excellent graphic communication skills and the confidence to lead projects, inspire teams and help shape the creative direction of the studio.

The Role

Working closely with the Head of Masterplanning, you'll play a leading role in the creative direction of projects, helping develop compelling urban design responses from concept through to delivery. You'll lead project teams, build strong client relationships and contribute to a diverse portfolio of large scale masterplanning, regeneration and mixed-use developments, while helping nurture the next generation of designers within the studio. This is a role for someone who is genuinely passionate about design, someone who enjoys sketching, testing ideas, challenging briefs and creating places with lasting impact.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design of large scale masterplanning and urban design projects
  • Develop clear, compelling design concepts and presentation material
  • Build trusted relationships with clients, consultants and collaborators
  • Lead workshops, presentations and design reviews
  • Mentor and inspire junior members of the team
  • Contribute to project strategy and design direction from concept onwards
  • Champion design quality across the studio

Requirements

  • Associate or Associate Director level experience within urban design or masterplanning
  • An exceptional portfolio demonstrating beautifully considered urban design and masterplanning projects
  • Strong conceptual thinking with excellent graphic communication and presentation skills
  • Experience leading large-scale regeneration, mixed-use or strategic masterplanning projects
  • Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, manage client relationships and present design ideas with confidence
  • Proficiency in Rhino is expected, with Revit experience highly advantageous
  • Excellent Adobe Creative Suite skills, particularly InDesign
  • International or Middle East masterplanning experience would be advantageous
  • Passion for design, collaboration and creating places with lasting impact
