MADE Careers is working with a highly respected, design-led architecture and urban design practice to appoint a Head of Design Technology within its London team. This is a rare opportunity to join a studio recognised for delivering some of the UK's most significant masterplanning, residential, commercial and mixed-use projects, taking a leading role in how technology, data and digital innovation are embedded across the wider practice.

The studio is looking for a strategic and forward thinking individual who can combine technical expertise with leadership, helping shape the future of design delivery across a diverse and complex project portfolio.

The Role

This is a senior leadership position operating at the intersection of architecture, technology and practice strategy. You will lead a specialist team responsible for BIM, information management, computational design and digital delivery, while working closely with senior leadership to define and implement the studio's long term technology roadmap. Alongside team leadership, you will play a key role in how projects are delivered, exploring opportunities to improve efficiency, strengthen collaboration and integrate emerging technologies including AI, automation and data led design processes. The role offers significant influence across the practice, working with project teams, clients and external collaborators to ensure technology supports both design excellence and commercial performance.

Requirements

  • Proven experience leading digital, BIM or design technology teams within an architectural practice
  • Strong understanding of architecture, project delivery and information management
  • Experience developing and implementing technology strategies across multiple teams or studios
  • Deep knowledge of Revit, BIM workflows and digital delivery processes
  • Experience with computational design tools including Rhino and Grasshopper
  • Understanding of AI, automation and emerging technologies within the design sector
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with experience managing specialist teams
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage senior stakeholders, clients and project teams
  • Commercial awareness, with an understanding of budgets, business performance and long term investment in technology
