MADE Careers is working with a leading AJ100 architecture practice to appoint a Finance Manager for its central London studio. This is a central, hands-on role within a busy international design practice. The successful candidate will oversee day-to-day finance operations while managing a small team of three, ensuring accurate reporting and smooth financial performance across the business.

They are looking for someone experienced, organised and commercially aware, ideally with a background in architecture, design, engineering or wider professional services. Please note this role is office based, full time.

The Role

  • Oversee day-to-day finance operations, including AP, AR, payroll coordination, banking and month-end processes
  • Prepare monthly management accounts, cashflow forecasts and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Produce financial performance reporting for senior leadership
  • Support project leaders with insight into profitability, WIP, fee burn and resourcing
  • Lead annual budgeting and forecasting cycles
  • Maintain financial controls and compliance with UK accounting standards
  • Liaise with external accountants, auditors, tax advisers and banking partners
  • Oversee finance systems and improve internal processes where required
  • Manage and support three junior finance team members

About You

  • Previous experience as a Finance Manager or Senior Accountant within architecture, design, engineering or professional services
  • ACCA, ACA or CIMA qualified, or strong QBE experience
  • Confident across project accounting, revenue recognition and multi-phase fee structures
  • Strong understanding of UK accounting standards and compliance
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience using Xero, Sage or similar systems
  • Organised, practical and detail focused
  • Right to work in the UK required (no sponsorship available).
