MADE Careers is working with a leading AJ100 architecture practice to appoint a Finance Manager for its central London studio. This is a central, hands-on role within a busy international design practice. The successful candidate will oversee day-to-day finance operations while managing a small team of three, ensuring accurate reporting and smooth financial performance across the business.
They are looking for someone experienced, organised and commercially aware, ideally with a background in architecture, design, engineering or wider professional services. Please note this role is office based, full time.
The Role
- Oversee day-to-day finance operations, including AP, AR, payroll coordination, banking and month-end processes
- Prepare monthly management accounts, cashflow forecasts and balance sheet reconciliations
- Produce financial performance reporting for senior leadership
- Support project leaders with insight into profitability, WIP, fee burn and resourcing
- Lead annual budgeting and forecasting cycles
- Maintain financial controls and compliance with UK accounting standards
- Liaise with external accountants, auditors, tax advisers and banking partners
- Oversee finance systems and improve internal processes where required
- Manage and support three junior finance team members
About You
- Previous experience as a Finance Manager or Senior Accountant within architecture, design, engineering or professional services
- ACCA, ACA or CIMA qualified, or strong QBE experience
- Confident across project accounting, revenue recognition and multi-phase fee structures
- Strong understanding of UK accounting standards and compliance
- Advanced Excel skills and experience using Xero, Sage or similar systems
- Organised, practical and detail focused
- Right to work in the UK required (no sponsorship available).
