MADDspace is a leading performing arts studio in Singapore, specialising in Music, Art, Drama and Dance programmes for children and youth. Our students have performed on local and international stages, achieved Distinctions in graded examinations, and competed at regional festivals and competitions. We are expanding our team and are looking for passionate, skilled and committed Vocal Instructors to grow with us.

Position 1: Vocal Instructor (Freelance)

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct 1-to-1 and small group vocal lessons for children and teenagers
  • Teach contemporary pop vocals (with optional musical theatre or classical foundation)
  • Prepare students for:
    • Performances & showcases
    • Competitions (local & overseas)
    • Graded examinations (e.g. LCM / Rockschool or equivalent)
  • Develop lesson plans tailored to each student’s goals and level
  • Provide constructive feedback and structured progression plans
  • Work closely with parents on student development updates
  • Participate in studio events, rehearsals and performances when required

Position 2: Vocal Instructor (Full-Time)

Key Responsibilities (All of the above, plus:)

  • Manage a structured student portfolio and growth targets
  • Contribute to curriculum development and programme planning
  • Mentor junior instructors (if applicable)
  • Assist in rehearsals for major studio productions and festivals
  • Support marketing initiatives (recordings, student showcases, social media content when required)
  • Contribute to student retention and progression strategies

Requirements

Essential

  • Diploma or Degree in Music, Vocal Performance, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 2 years teaching experience (preferred)
  • Strong technical understanding of:
    • Breath support
    • Vocal placement
    • Vocal health & safe technique
    • Range development
  • Experience teaching children and teens (ages 5–18)
  • Confident teaching contemporary pop vocals
  • Strong communication skills with both students and parents
  • Responsible, punctual and professional

Preferred (Advantageous but Not Mandatory)

  • Experience preparing students for graded exams (LCM, Rockschool, ABRSM etc.)
  • Background in musical theatre, show choir or performance coaching
  • Performance experience locally or internationally
  • Ability to accompany students on piano
  • Experience coaching competition pieces
