  • Compliance & governance leadership: Ensure full statutory compliance across the estate, embedding best practice aligned to HTMs, HBNs, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Stakeholder influence: Build trusted relationships with NHS Trust representatives, Project Co, and internal teams to deliver aligned, high-performing services.
  • Performance & continuous improvement: Use data, KPIs, and audit outcomes to identify improvement opportunities and drive measurable service enhancements.
  • People leadership: Develop and lead multi-disciplinary engineering teams, fostering capability, accountability, and a strong safety culture.
  • Contract and commercial awareness: Operate effectively within a PFI framework, understanding risk, compliance obligations, and service delivery requirements.

What We’re Looking For

  • Education: A recognised qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Engineering.
  • Experience: Proven Hard FM management in complex environments, with a strong preference for healthcare.
  • Compliance: Deep understanding of statutory compliance, Health Technical Memoranda (HTMs), and safe systems of work.
  • Contracts: Background operating within Private Finance Initiative (PFI) or similar strict contract frameworks.
  • Leadership: Ability to lead direct teams, manage external subcontractors, and deliver performance through others.
  • Mindset: Proactive, solution-led approach with the confidence to challenge and improve current processes.

  • Zero Failure: Achieving 100% statutory compliance across all technical services.
  • Performance: Meeting and exceeding maintenance delivery Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
