An exciting opportunity for an experienced Business Development leader to drive strategic growth across Projects and Planned Preventative Maintenance within a Hard FM environment. This role is central to expanding market share, securing new clients and building long term commercial partnerships across technical and engineering services. You will manage the full new business lifecycle, from prospecting and qualification through to contract award, before transitioning established accounts to ongoing management.
Key Responsibilities
- Targeting and securing new Hard FM contracts across sectors including healthcare, defence, commercial and manufacturing
- Designing and delivering a regional growth strategy aligned with wider business objectives
- Building a strong pipeline through networking, direct outreach and strategic partnerships
- Leading technical proposals, tenders and client presentations
- Coaching and developing a small business development team
- Forecasting revenue and monitoring pipeline conversion
- Supporting smooth onboarding of new clients to ensure operational and compliance standards are met
- Representing the business at industry events and client meetings
- Working collaboratively with operational and estimating teams to strengthen bids and protect margins
Candidate requirements
- Proven track record in business development within Hard FM, building services or engineering environments
- Strong understanding of technical services, PPM delivery models and contract frameworks
- Established industry network with access to senior decision makers
- Commercially astute with a focus on sustainable and profitable growth
- Experience leading and developing high performing sales teams
- Confident communicator with strong presentation and negotiation skills
