Mad Swans is seeking a part-time and weekend Fitness Instructor / Personal Trainer to join our Sports Team.
Part Time & Weekend Roles

Location
Onsite role at Mad Swans in the Mendips, Marsh Lane, Farrington Gurney, Bristol, BS39 6TS.
Working Hours
Shift times will vary throughout the week; operational times are from 06:30 am to 10:00 pm.
Working Days
Part-time, full-time and weekend positions are available. Full-time staff will be required to work any five days out of seven, including regular weekends.
The Key Duties and Responsibilities of this Role
- Greet guests and offer a warm welcome
- Conduct tours of the gym
- Lead group fitness classes
- Assist members with inductions and programmes
- Talk to members about goals and create fun, safe, challenging workouts
- Lifting and arranging gym equipment
- Maintaining gym equipment
- Assist with guest enquiries and act as a key point of contact for guests interested in the Gym, Golf, The Swing Barn, The Putt Patch, Padel Tennis or Pickleball
- Handle telephone enquiries, sports bookings, and process payments in a professional manner
- Review daily bookings, tee times, lessons, court bookings, societies and events
- Complete daily opening and closing tasks to ensure spaces are clean and well-presented
- Replenish stock in the shop and merchandise to ensure high standard presentation
- Ensure all stock is displayed appropriately with correct price and bar code
- Assist with new bookings and changes
- Issue and collect racquets, balls and any sports equipment to guests
- Ensure all racquets, balls and sports equipment are stored appropriately and replaced when required
- Issue and collect golf clubs, putters, drivers, irons, golf balls and any sports equipment to guests
- Oversee Golf Buggies hires, ensuring compliance with safety and charging correctly
- Proactively upsell to guests, including golf buggies, food, drinks and other activities
- Promote our Mad Swans Loyalty Programme
- Work closely with the Gym & Racquets Manager, Golf Manager and Retail Team Leader to cover all areas within the Sports Department
Who We’re Looking For
- Crazy about fitness and personal well-being
- Qualified and certified with Lv3 Personal Trainer, Group Cycle and Group Exercise Training in Pilates and Yoga is desirable but not essential
- Experienced or has previous experience in a customer-facing role
- Previous experience teaching exercise classes
- Passionate about delivering excellent guest experience
- Excellent communicator
- Eye for detail
- Organised and able to multi-task
- Confident, outgoing and well-presented
- Happy to be hands-on and assist with day-to-day duties as part of a small team
- Self-driven and highly motivated
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proactive, positive and resilient by nature

- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
