Mad Swans is expanding its leisure portfolio across the South of England. The Head of Golf will oversee golf operations at all existing and newly planned sites, delivering a world‑class experience to guests and supporting the brand’s growth strategy.
Responsibilities
- Manage day‑to‑day golf operations at all Mad Swans properties, ensuring seamless service from tee‑time booking to clubhouse operations.
- Collaborate with the on‑site General Manager to drive operational excellence across each site.
- Plan, coordinate and promote golf competitions, tournaments and society events, creating local sports communities.
- Lead a high‑performing golf team, fostering a positive, enthusiastic culture and delivering exceptional guest service.
- Support retail, food & beverage, and green‑fee sales, maximizing revenue across all streams.
- Partner with the Greenkeeping Team to maintain course presentation and playing condition.
- Assist with retail shop operations, including range building and product development.
- Act as Sustainability Champion, driving new initiatives and programmes across the golf portfolio.
- Oversee landscaping, tree planting and outdoor projects at each site.
- Manage third‑party contractors and travel requirements, travelling regularly between sites and staying overnight as necessary.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in golf operations management, preferably across multiple sites.
- Demonstrated success in both on‑course and off‑course roles.
- Strong people‑management skills, leading by example and delivering high standards.
- Results‑driven, enthusiastic and passionate about golf.
- Experience and interest in sustainability practices.
- Excellent communicator, confident, outgoing and well‑presented.
- Self‑motivated, highly organised and able to multitask in a fast‑paced environment.
- Proactive, positive, resilient and solutions‑driven with an innovative mindset.
