Fancy a 4-day working week and the chance to earn over £100,000 per year? Mactech is now recruiting experienced TIG and/or MMA Welders for long-term nightshift roles with Cavendish Nuclear (part of the MEH Alliance) on Hinkley Point C nuclear new build project in Bridgwater, Somerset.

Join a skilled team responsible for mechanical installations—primarily pipework—on the nuclear island. Contracts commence from July onwards, subject to vetting and onboarding.

We’re Looking For:

• Minimum 3 years of relevant industry experience
• Qualified to Level 2 / Apprenticeship / City & Guilds in Welding
• Valid CCNSG Safety Passport
• Able to test to ISO 9606 standards (tests depend on your experience):

SWQ-02 Butt Weld – 2” carbon steel pipe weld – 6G position – All TIG

SWQ-02 Fillet Weld – 2” carbon steel pipe to plate – horizontal position – TIG

SWQ-04 Butt Weld – 2” stainless steel pipe weld – 6G position – All TIG

SWQ-04 Fillet Weld – 2” stainless steel pipe to plate – horizontal position – TIG

SWQ-70 Box to Plate – structural steel – horizontal position – MMA

Note: ECITB trade test required before induction.

PAYE Rates (Advanced Craft 5 – ECSA Site Agreement):

• Nightshift Rate: £34.52/hr
• OT1: £39.46/hr
• OT2: £50.73/hr
• Bonus: Up to £2.82/hr
• Lodge Allowance: £50.81/day (£355.67/week)
• Travel: Return rail fare + travel time
• Holidays: 25 days + public holidays
