We are looking for a motivated and organised Trainee HR Coordinator to join our HR team at MacTaggart Scott. This is an exciting development opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career within Human Resources while gaining practical experience across all areas of the employee lifecycle within a fast-paced engineering and manufacturing environment.
Working closely with the HR Business Partner and wider HR team, you will support the delivery of day-to-day HR operations including recruitment administration, onboarding, employee records management, systems administration, learning and development support, and employee relations case management.
This role would suit someone who is eager to learn, enjoys working with people, and takes pride in delivering a professional and customer-focused service. You will gain exposure to a broad range of HR activities while developing knowledge of HR best practice, employment legislation, and people processes within a commercially focused business environment.
There will also be the opportunity to work towards completing a Modern Apprenticeship at SCQF Level 5 or 6.
As our Trainee HR Coordinator, you will play an important role in supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the HR function while developing your own HR knowledge, skills, and experience. Working closely with colleagues across the business, you will provide administrative and operational support across recruitment, onboarding, HR systems, employee records, learning and development activities, and employee support processes.
This is a varied and hands-on role where no two days are the same. You will have the opportunity to learn about all aspects of HR operations while building confidence and capability within a supportive and collaborative team environment.

Requirements:
- Strong organisational skills with good attention to detail
- Confident communication and interpersonal skills
- A proactive and positive approach with a willingness to learn
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a busy environment
- Comfortable working with confidential information professionally and discreetly
- Strong administrative and IT skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Customer-focused with a professional and approachable manner

Desirable:
- Previous administrative experience within an office or customer-facing environment
