The Opportunity: We’re looking for a Bid Coordinator to join our Proposals and Commercial team in Loanhead. This is a fantastic opportunity for an organised, motivated, and detail-oriented individual to play a key role in shaping the future of our business. As Bid Coordinator, you’ll manage the end-to-end proposal process for complex engineering projects, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, compliant bids that win new business and strengthen our customer relationships. You’ll be part of a collaborative and supportive environment where your ideas are valued and your career can grow whether you’re an experienced bid professional or someone with strong technical or commercial skills looking to develop in this field. Based in Loanhead, Midlothian, this full-time role runs Monday to Thursday or Monday to Friday dependent upon preference for 4 or 5 day working, with flexibility to meet business needs. The role may involve occasional UK and international travel, and requires applicants to hold or be eligible for the appropriate security clearance.

What You’ll Do:
- Lead and coordinate the preparation, writing, and submission of high-quality proposals and tenders.
- Collaborate with technical, commercial, quality, and operations teams to gather accurate and relevant information.
- Act as the main point of contact for proposal-related queries from both internal teams and clients.
- Develop winning bid strategies in partnership with Business Development, highlighting key differentiators and value propositions.
- Review proposals for accuracy, compliance, and quality prior to submission.
- Support continuous improvement of the bid process, ensuring documentation and records are maintained to company standards.
- Provide regular reporting on bid performance, win/loss analysis, and lessons learned.
What We’re Looking For:
- Strong communication and influencing skills and able to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple deadlines.
- Numerate, detail-oriented, and confident using Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Word).
- A proactive approach and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Desirable:
- Experience in proposal or project coordination within an engineering or technical environment.
- Familiarity with ERP systems.
- Awareness of commercial terms and conditions.
- Membership of the Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP) or similar body.
- Further education qualification in a Technical or Business discipline.
