You will be working on Mechanical/M&E projects in NI from the Belfast office for a reputable UK TFM M&E HVAC Contractor who provides first-class integrated services delivery for public and private sector clients. The Mechanical Quantity Surveyor - M&E QS job itself within their professional asset management team involves ensuring all commercial functions for the Division are completed to professional standards within agreed time and cost budgets. More specifically:
- Pre Contract
- On Site pre-measurements
- Production of bills of quantities and/or MTC cost plans for clients
- Development of supply chain packages
- Production of labour schedules for operations team
- Specialist material procurement
- Procurement and appointment of subcontractors on designated subcontract conditions
- Preparation of the forecasting and reporting of costs against value to ensure that it is in line with the contract profitability forecast
- Measurement, preparation and agreement of interim valuations and final accounts in line with the contract schedule of rates
- Administration, auditing and analysis of subcontractor accounts along with effective commercial control
- Identification of added value opportunities within measurement and contract conditions
- Prepare subcontractor payments accurately and in a timely manner
- Work in accordance with strict client KPI’s, in particular time, cost and quality
- Generate any early warning notices and compensation events to the client if required
You will have
To be successful as a Mechanical Quantity Surveyor, you will be an experienced QS with construction/FM experience and a healthy mix of the following:
- Essential Criteria
- Possess either a Third Level Qualification in Quantity Surveying or demonstrate a level of experience obtained working in a comparable role
- Demonstrate the ability to develop a strong client and supply chain relationship by working in a collaborative manner
- Possess advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office packages and Information Technology in general
- Valid driving licence
- Have knowledge of construction practices that can be used on site to analyse the design and propose potential cost saving and value engineering measures
- Experience of working on MTC contracts
- Experience of using the Mechanical PSA/National Schedule of Rates
- Experience of QS software such as Barcellos
