You will be managing technical sales within your specialism (Power/Magnetics, Photonics/Imaging OR Sensors) on a fully remote basis in the UK for an innovative engineering technology company renowned for solving challenging problems for blue-chip clients in the renewable energy, security, medical, transportation, aerospace and defence industries.
The Technical Sales Manager job itself involves responsibility for the business development of Power/Magnetic, Photonic/Imaging OR Sensor products from technical design to commercial account management, having a solution approach with customers. You will develop a business strategy to continuously create a sustainable new demand creation funnel and convert current opportunities to achieve the Sales and Margin budgets and KPI targets.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building and maintaining long-term relationships with both new and existing customers.
- Ensuring close working relationships with key suppliers and conducting monthly reviews of key projects.
- Achievement of monthly and annual sales/margin targets and personal objectives.
- Attending regular meetings with Management to discuss progress to sales forecasts and activities to ensure objectives are being met.
- Presenting and demonstrating to customers the benefits of products in terms of specification, quality, price, technical benefits, logistics support, timely delivery, etc.
- Providing detailed feedback and reports on sales activities to Line Manager.
- Timely management of any administrative duties including planning & organising work schedule and setting up appointments/visits.
- Updating and maintaining database records.
- Forecasting, monitoring, and evaluating sales figures for the region.
- Participating in exhibitions, sales meetings, business and other meetings as required.
- Ensuring that all activities/tasks are carried out in accordance with the Company Health and Safety Policy and the Quality / ISO system.
To be successful as Technical Sales Manager, you will have a healthy mix of the following:
- Supporting designs with a technical sales background in Power/Magnetics, Photonics/Imaging OR Sensors into markets such as Industrial, Oil & Gas, Automotive, Consumer, Precision Monitoring, Military.
- Successful track record in technical sales positions.
- Demonstrable experience in building strong internal and external relationships.
- Computer literate; proficient in the use of Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
- Good at time management and focusing on objectives.
- Creative – able to think ‘outside the box’.
- Valid driving licence.
- Able to travel to meet customers and suppliers.
As Technical Sales Manager, you will enjoy a competitive salary of £55K-£75K+ (role dependent) + fantastic package. The package includes company car or £600 monthly allowance, 10-20% performance-related bonus, pension, life assurance, income protection, a laptop, mobile phone.
