The Commercial Gas Engineer job itself involves covering service, maintenance and reactive work requirements to clients' commercial heating systems and associated pipework. This role will mainly cover clients' warehouses, offices and retail premises across the UK, dealing with various commercial and domestic heating systems including boilers, burners, warm air heaters, etc.
- Carry out annual services and scheduled maintenance visits to a high standard in accordance with Health & Safety procedures.
- Completion of the required Gas Safety Certificates and/or any other relevant documents upon completion of any works.
- Installation of new Heating and Hot Water systems.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, identify, and rectify faults to equipment and systems from a variety of different manufacturers.
- Identifying parts and materials with suppliers and contacting manufacturers to query technical faults, warranties, etc.
- Attend to maintenance and reactive calls to plumbing jobs as may be required.
- Be an excellent communicator with a high level of customer service and build rapport with customers while representing the company to the best of your ability.
- Attend scheduled training courses when necessary to ensure all skills and qualifications are up to date and to maintain H&S requirements and safe working practices.
To be successful as a Commercial Gas Engineer, you will have the essential Commercial ACS certifications and a good track record in the field:
- Gas Safety Registered/Commercial Gas Safe registered.
- Clean valid UK driver's license.
- Commercial Gas qualifications; domestic gas qualifications desirable.
- Experience with air handling/ventilation systems.
- IPAF/PASMA required for servicing high-level warehouse gas radiant heaters.
- Highly motivated and keen to always work to the highest standard.
- Good communication skills, both oral and written.
- Available to work away occasionally to complete required service visits.
- Expected to be on the on-call rota covering both nights and weekends (call out fees and premium rates of pay apply).
Must have the following qualifications: COCN1, CDGA1, CIGA1, CORT1, ICPN1, TPCP1 and TPCP1A, CCN1, CEN1, CPA1.
As a Commercial Gas Engineer, you will enjoy a competitive pay at £20.90PH ~ £40,755K PA base salary and an estimated total earnings with overtime of £45K-£55K annually:
- Pay Rate: £20.90 per hour
- 37.5 hours per week guaranteed (£40,755 P.A.)
- Potential earnings with O/T: £45K to £55K
- Normal working core hours are Monday - Friday, 08:00 – 16:00 (30 mins lunch unpaid)
- Overtime as available (Daily hours in excess of 7.5 paid at time and a half)
- Working time door to door
- Callout Standby Rota - £10.00 per day - Standby 1 week in 7
