You will like managing people & production on the CNC Day Shift in Coventry, working with a forward-thinking private manufacturing company leveraging modern manufacturing methods for the construction materials supply sector. You will like the Monday – Friday 7 AM-4 PM CNC Production Manager role itself where you will take full ownership of CNC production across 15+ machines. You will lead and develop a team of CNC Team Leaders and operators, ensuring the department delivers safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards of quality. The role is accountable for production output, operator performance, housekeeping standards, recruitment and onboarding of new staff, and the ongoing development of the team. Working with the maintenance function, you will also oversee the overall condition, servicing, and upkeep of CNC machinery.

A critical part of this role is to drive Lean practices, utilise OEE data, and foster a culture of continuous improvement β€” reducing waste, improving machine efficiency, and striving for production excellence. Success in this role will be measured using SQCDP (Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, People) principles, ensuring balanced performance across all key manufacturing metrics.

You will have to be successful as CNC Production Manager you will have a healthy mix of the following:

  • Proven leadership experience managing CNC operations in a high-volume manufacturing environment (essential/strongly advantageous).
  • Strong technical knowledge of CNC machining, programming, tooling, and process optimisation.
  • Demonstrated ability to build, develop, and motivate teams to achieve production excellence.
  • Hands-on experience of Lean manufacturing and leading continuous improvement projects.
  • Strong understanding of OEE, SQCDP, and performance measurement tools.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • A proactive and strategic mindset with the ability to balance daily operations with long-term improvements.
