Role Purpose
The role will be responsible for leading and managing projects from initiation to completion. They will work closely with cross-functional teams, stakeholders and clients to ensure that project goals are met within the defined scope, quality, schedule and budget constraints. This role requires strong organisational, planning, commercial, communication, stakeholder engagement and leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Commercial and Change Management: Ensure the smooth handover from Sales to Projects establishing clear baselines for time, cost and quality; Own project commercial performance and change management; Manage the incorporation of changes into project delivery plans, ensuring the team are aligned.
- Project Controls: Document scope, goals, deliverables, timelines and resources; Set up and maintain project governance; Agree methodology, phases and stage gates; Build accurate, SME-informed project plans; Define deliverables, ownership and responsibilities; Allocate tasks and resources; Manage risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies; Manage cross-project and client dependencies; Report progress through governance channels; Chair internal and client steering groups.
- Team Leadership: Lead and motivate cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives; Foster a collaborative and productive team environment.
- Stakeholder Management: Develop effective stakeholder relationships at all levels both with clients and internal stakeholders; Influence decision-making at all levels, constructively challenging stakeholders where necessary to ensure effective project delivery; Develop stakeholder engagement and communication plans.
- Budget and Resource Management: Develop and manage project budgets and resource allocations.
- Project Execution: Oversee the execution of project tasks, ensuring adherence to project plans; Ensure that requirements are clear, raising risks as appropriate; Run team meetings to monitor progress and adjust plans, budgets and resources as necessary; Develop and deliver detailed cutover and release plans, including where necessary to run book level, to ensure changes are delivered in a controlled manner.
- Quality Assurance: Own project quality assurance, ensuring that project deliverables meet quality and technical standards and implement quality assurance processes; Agree stage gate quality criteria and deliver stage gate assessments; Agree decision criteria (go/no-go, go live, hypercare exit and project closure); Ensure changes are tested before release based on an agreed test approach and in alignment with contractual obligations; Ensure PMO Compliance.
- Closure and Evaluation: Accountable for effective transition into support; Conduct project closure activities, including documenting lessons learned and obtaining client/stakeholder feedback.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Business Administration, or a related field or equivalent proven experience as a Project Manager.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies and tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Leadership and team management experience.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in project management software.
