About The Role

As a Senior Solutions Manager, you will lead the bid process, from early engagement and capture support to proposal submission.

This includes the development of the solution, supply chain strategy, and pricing strategy, and the timely submission of high-quality proposals that meet client requirements.

You will manage resources effectively, ensuring compliance with all RFP requirements and guidelines.

You will also maintain an understanding of market trends and competitor activity to inform bid strategy.

The role translates win strategies and client objectives into smart, customer-focused solutions, documents and presentations, escalating risks as needed.

This hybrid position involves up to two days per week in Macro’s London office, occasional customer site visits, and potential international travel, accommodating global time zones.

  • Main Responsibilities Will Include
  • Manage tender submissions, leading the end-to-end bid process, including early engagement and capture support, qualification through the bid/no bid process, solution development, pricing strategy and proposal submission.
  • Lead the solution design of all aspects of the solution (including supply chain solution) for tender opportunities by generating specific solutions that provide a compelling proposition to the client and address their business needs and objectives.

This includes developing the proposed contract structure, technology and ESG offering, ensuring it is a competitive commercial proposition.

  • Develop and execute commercially focused bid strategies that align with the company’s goals and client requirements.
  • Work cohesively with the relevant SMEs, stakeholders, bid and commercial teams to develop compelling, compliant, and competitive tender responses.
  • Maintain a clear audit trail, ensuring bid governance, records and version control are maintained.
  • Identify tender risks and opportunities, ensuring they are escalated as appropriate and included as part of a bid handover.
  • Be responsible for a complete and accurate handover of the deal, including gaps, outstanding actions, risks and opportunities, to mobilisation.
  • Provide feedback to the Supply Chain Management team on supplier bid performance and support preferred supplier QBRs as required.
  • Support capture leads with early capture activities, including pre-RFP client meetings, market engagement, early solution development and capture plans to help influence the client.
  • Support the operational teams where needed to prevent a client from going out to market.
  • Ensure compliance with client requirements, regulations and industry standards.
  • Develop compelling and persuasive bid content, including executive summaries, value propositions, pricing models and technical responses.
  • Facilitate bid review meetings, ensuring key stakeholders provide input and address concerns or issues.
  • Work with pricing teams to develop competitive pricing strategies that align with bid requirements and profitability targets.
  • Coordinate with legal and compliance teams to ensure bid proposals meet all legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and track bid performance metrics, analysing win/loss data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Conduct post-bid analysis and debrief sessions to identify areas for improvement and implement lessons learned for future bids.
  • Continuously refine and improve bid processes, templates and best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, market insights and emerging best practices in bid management and the FM industry.

About You

The ideal candidate should have

Essential Experience & Skills

  • Experience in bid management, solution development, or a similar role.
  • Proven experience managing bids for complex projects or large-scale contracts, with a demonstrable track record of successful bid submissions.
  • Strong understanding of the full bid lifecycle, including opportunity assessment, strategy, solution development, pricing, presentation, and submission.
  • Strong understanding of pricing strategies and financial analysis in bid development.
  • Excellent project management, organisational, and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent bids and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills, with the confidence to communicate and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience leading client presentations and coaching presentation teams on key win themes and messages.
  • Ability to create engaging, professional, and visually compelling bid presentations.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, comprehension, and interpretation skills.
  • Ability to understand and interpret scope, specifications, commercial information, and client requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate, error-free delivery.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and work independently when required.
  • Creative mindset with strong design flair and the ability to translate business and brand strategy into compelling content and communications.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant bid management software.
  • Flexible and adaptable approach, with the ability to respond effectively to changing priorities and compressed timeframes.

Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant subject.
  • Strong computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Desirable

  • Strong understanding of the Facilities Management industry.
  • Proven track record of winning Facilities Management bids.
  • Knowledge of FM, engineering, and/or the built environment.
  • Previous Facilities Management bidding experience.
  • Operational or technical experience within Facilities Management.
