A role within the commercial function supporting the Head of Commercial Pricing to ensure the retention of existing business and the acquisition of new opportunities through commercially sound and competitive strategies. This role involves close collaboration with the Bid team to develop winning submissions, while identifying commercial opportunities and risks throughout the process. The successful candidate will actively seek innovative pricing solutions, provide commercial check and challenge during solution design, and assess subcontractor quotations. Additionally, the role supports the implementation of standards, policies, and procedures led by the Head of Commercial Pricing.
Main Job Responsibilities
- Develop commercially sound pricing solutions aligned with the RFP and contract requirements, considering identified risks and opportunities.
- Provide commercial pricing solutions on medium-sized opportunities and assist/support Head of Commercial Pricing on larger, complex bids.
- Presents analysis of pricing solution from subcontractor, close any potential gaps and negotiate for the competitive price.
- Work in collaboration with the bid team and other business functions in developing winning solutions.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of various commercial models and provide senior management and stakeholders with pricing analysis insights, scenarios modelling, and solution options.
- Maintain detailed benchmarking data for both internal and external use.
- Manage global benchmarking data to support pricing decisions on new opportunities.
- Ensure seamless knowledge transfer from bid to account teams and provide mentoring to help identify further risks and opportunities.
- Actively promote Macro Group’s brand values and image.
- Stay informed of industry best practices and maintain a network of contacts for supplier intelligence.
- Work independently with minimal supervision and effectively prioritise workload.
- Provide regular reporting, escalation, and updates to Macro Central Functions.
- Be flexible and available for travel as required.
- Ensure all documentation is maintained in accordance with the Macro way.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- Proven experience in commercial pricing with a strong understanding of various commercial models.
- Ability to construct and modify financial models to meet diverse requirements.
- High level of digital competence, particularly advanced Excel skills.
- Strong influencing and negotiation abilities.
- Effective communication skills with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
- Good understanding of FM-compliant standards such as SFG20.
- Basic knowledge and skills on Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Additional Advantages
- Advanced excel qualifications or experience (including Pivot tables, SUMIF functions and VLOOKUPS).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Microsoft Visio, and SharePoint.
- Experience with procurement systems and databases.
- Training in Contract Law.
