About The Role

The Bid Manager supports Macro’s solutions and bid team in meeting growth targets, managing global bids including PQQs, RFIs, and RFPs, throughout the full lifecycle.

They produce compelling, brand‑aligned content and assist with mobilisation after contract award using established bid processes.

The role converts win strategies and client needs into clear, customer‑focused documents and presentations, escalating risks when required.

This hybrid position includes up to two days weekly in Macro’s London office, occasional client site visits, international travel, and coordination across global time zones.

  • Main Responsibilities Will Include
  • Manage and produce tender submissions for Macro opportunities, including PQQs, RFIs, and RFPs.
  • Oversee proposal development, collaborating with the Solutions Manager who owns the opportunity. On smaller bids, the Bid Manager may manage the entire process.
  • Develop win strategies, bid plans, and resource schedules with Solutions Leads, SMEs, and operational teams.
  • Coordinate input from subject matter experts, commercial, legal, operational, and senior leadership to ensure alignment and quality.
  • Ensure bids comply with governance processes and client requirements, including risk assessments and commercial reviews.
  • Initiate proposals with a bid plan developed alongside the Opportunity Solutions Lead.
  • Track and report bid progress against milestones.
  • Analyse tender documents to identify client drivers and objectives.
  • Provide templates to support win strategies.
  • Manage resources, including desktop publishing, to support bid production.
  • Coach contributors and conduct content quality reviews.
  • Submit bids and manage the process effectively.
  • Develop storyboards to clarify questions, scoring mechanisms, and strategy.
  • Write standard content, CVs, and project profiles, filling gaps by gathering information from the business.
  • Edit responses to ensure persuasive, benefit‑driven copy.
  • Capture new content in the Bid Content Library and implement continuous improvement.
  • Share lessons learnt and best practices.
  • Create bid documents, such as case studies and CVs, aligned with the brand asset library.

About You

The ideal should ideally have

  • A very high standard of written and spoken English, with strong editing skills to correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation, and the ability to shape compelling responses.
  • Strong communication and motivational skills.
  • A clear understanding of strategic proposal management processes, including qualification, pre‑proposal planning, strategy development, and storyboarding.
  • Strong strategic proposal writing skills.

Qualifications Required

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in relevant subject.
  • Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office programs, is essential.
  • Adobe Creative Suite (In Design) experience to at least Intermediate level is desirable.
  • Experience specifically focused on bidding.
  • The job holder would be at an advantage if they have
  • APMP Practitioner Level certification – at the very least, APMP Foundation.
  • A strong understanding of the Facilities Management industry is preferred.
  • Knowledge of FM, engineering, and/or building environment.
  • Experience in Facilities Management bidding.
  • Experience of the international FM market.
  • Working knowledge of Bidding AI tools.
