About The Role
In this role you will provide strategic financial support to the board and management teams of Macro. You will be responsible for the timely production and submission of Macro’s financial performance, including monthly management accounts, monthly forecasts, annual budgets, and input into long‑term business plans for the region, as well as supporting the production of annual statutory accounts where required.
Additionally, you will provide clients and operational teams with regular financial reports, forecasts, and budgets, along with variance analysis and commentary to aid understanding of the financials, whilst meeting contractual commitments.
You will support the monitoring, improvement, and maintenance of group corporate governance and ensure regulatory compliance throughout, liaising with local accountants engaged as needed. You will improve processes and procedures to ensure the financial and commercial side operates efficiently and effectively, supporting improvements in commercial awareness throughout the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting Group Company Performance & Project Profitability
- Take a hands‑on approach in closing month‑end for the region, ensuring detailed project reviews are performed with management and clients where required.
- Hold monthly finance reviews with senior management to review YTD performance and full‑year forecast information against budget, summarising and reporting on all group risks and opportunities.
- Generate monthly financial review reports for submission to the Head of Financial Planning & Analysis and the Group FC, and assist with the production of financial information for inclusion in Macro board reports.
- Support the production of year‑end audited accounts for the Americas Limited, ensuring sufficient controls to meet all audit requirements.
- Manage, maintain, and ensure adherence to the agreed Financial Timetable.
- Work with senior management to agree on improvements in standard report packs and drive through change where required.
Cash Management
- Look to improve working capital wherever possible, paying particular attention to the management of accounts payable and receivable, ensuring any issues are dealt with swiftly.
- Support the management and review of the repatriation of funds from overseas operations, mitigating foreign exchange risks where possible.
- Review and authorise payments across a number of currencies using various internet banking facilities.
- Oversee the production of short‑ and long‑term cash flow forecasts.
- Ensure aged debts are minimised and work with management to take appropriate action to resolve.
Business Planning
- Oversee the production and consolidation of the Americas annual budgets across a number of countries and business units, ensuring the annual business plan is delivered in line with the agreed group timetable and follows group policy and procedure.
- Provide input into the long‑term business planning process.
- Be involved in and provide support towards making any long‑term investment appraisal decisions.
Commercial
- Aid bidding activity with financial information where required.
- Where required challenge senior management to ensure the company is protected commercially with contracts in place.
- Ensure policies are adhered to or in place to safeguard Macro from credit agencies.
- Client engagement reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and relationship management.
- Support in ensuring the company remains compliant with tax and other local regulatory reporting requirements.
- Hold and attend regular meetings with senior management, financial review panel, board members, and account/project managers.
- Look for deficiencies in existing processes and implement improvements.
- Ensure processes are in place to police a variety of activities, including outgoing payments, supplier set‑up, ordering, and expense processing.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- Demonstrable team management experience.
- Experience dealing with individuals at senior management level.
- The ability to communicate with staff at all levels.
- Competence in the use of IT tools, including MS Office systems, internet, and email.
- Highly competent in the use of Excel, with a sound knowledge of Excel functions and macros.
- Experience using Business Intelligence and/or Enterprise Financial Reporting software packages.
- Experience in developing Management Information Systems.
- Competence in identifying and rectifying process failures.
- A customer‑focused approach.
- Articulate and highly numerate.
- A polite and courteous manner.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work under self‑direction and prioritise effectively.
- Experience in a similar role.
- Previous use of CODA Dream and/or IBM Cognos TM1.
- Experience in the FM market and client accounting.
- Experience reporting at board level.
Essential
- Qualified ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent qualification.

- PQE.
