Macquarie Capital's Software and Services team is seeking an ambitious banker to join its London-based team, expanding our Business Services advisory capabilities across the region. Macquarie Capital has an established Software and Services advisory franchise in Europe, with senior bankers serving clients across key markets. This role offers the opportunity to build on that platform while leveraging Macquarie's distinctive position in this segment.
You will play a pivotal role in growing Macquarie Capital's Business Services advisory franchise across Europe. As infrastructure investors broaden their investment mandates, demand is increasing across sectors that exhibit infrastructure-like characteristics, including resilient cash flows, recurring revenues, defensive growth profiles and the provision of essential services. At Macquarie, we refer to this as Core+. Business Services is a particularly attractive area within this Core+ theme. Businesses such as Technical Services, Testing, Inspection & Certification, asset-based leasing and transportation and logistics are attracting increasing interest from infrastructure investors alongside traditional private equity sponsors and strategic buyers.
Working closely with Services and Infrastructure colleagues across the region, as well as broader sector coverage teams, you will develop senior client relationships, originate new opportunities and lead transactions from strategic positioning through execution. You will advise private equity sponsors, infrastructure funds, corporate clients and management teams on mergers and acquisitions, strategic alternatives and broader advisory assignments. You will help further develop Macquarie's market position across Business Services by bringing deep sector expertise and the firm's relationships across the infrastructure investor ecosystem. You will also have the opportunity to utilise Macquarie's ability to act as a principal investor, as well as its debt financing capabilities and strategic advisory expertise.
What You Offer
- Proven track record of originating, winning and leading M&A and strategic advisory mandates
- Deep Business Services expertise, particularly across sub-segments that overlap with infrastructure-like sectors
- Examples sub-segments include Technical Services, Testing, Inspection & Certification, asset-based leasing and transportation and logistics
- Strong relationships across corporate clients, private equity sponsors and investors active within business services markets
- Demonstrated ability to develop trusted senior-level client relationships and generate new business opportunities
- Strong strategic advisory orientation, with M&A and advisory experience preferred over a predominantly capital markets-focused background
- Experience gained at a leading investment bank, advisory firm or other relevant financial institution
- Collaborative and entrepreneurial approach combined with an ability to work effectively across Software and Services and other teams and a motivation to develop and grow your own position in the market
