Our Commodities and Global Markets (CGM) teams rely on fast, trusted and well‑governed datasets to drive trading intelligence, price risk, execute strategies and develop advanced analytical models. As we strengthen our Data as a Service (DaaS) capability, you will help ensure our markets business has seamless access to the high‑quality data it needs to operate with precision, speed and confidence.

You will take a leading role in shaping and owning our Data as a Service (DaaS) capability for Commodities and Global Markets, ensuring that high‑quality, well‑governed data underpins decision‑making across one of Macquarie’s most sophisticated and fast‑paced businesses. As the strategic connector between front‑office stakeholders and our engineering teams, you will ensure that business requirements are clearly articulated, technically robust and seamlessly translated into scalable data products.

Working closely with traders, sales teams, quants and data scientists, you will develop a deep understanding of their data needs and analytical workflows, transforming these into actionable specifications that guide design and delivery. You will oversee the end‑to‑end onboarding of new datasets into our cloud‑based lakehouse, to ensure compliant access, accurate metadata capture and an efficient onboarding experience.

You will assume ownership of our Alation data catalogue, elevating its structure, taxonomy and stewardship processes to create a trusted, intuitive and widely adopted data platform across the division. In parallel, you will advance Dataiku enablement by supporting onboarding, automation opportunities, low‑code analytics and best‑practice.

What You Offer

  • Experience in data product, data management or business analysis roles, ideally in financial services.
  • Strong ability to translate business requirements into clear technical specifications.
  • Knowledge of data governance concepts, metadata management and data catalogues (Alation experience is beneficial).
  • Familiarity with cloud platform and tools such as Dataiku.
  • Knowledge of Financial Markets or Market Data is a plus.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, especially with front‑office users.
