Join Macquarie Capital within our principal financing and investing arm that provides flexible primary and secondary solutions as well as engaging in secondary market investing across the capital structure. As part of our dynamic and growing business, our legal function is integrated within the business to provide trusted advice to drive and support deal execution end-to-end.

While Macquarie offers hybrid working for many of our roles, this role does require at least a majority of the week in the advertised location. As a Senior Attorney, you will play a key role in supporting complex transactions and portfolio management, acting as a trusted senior counsel. Providing legal advice and execution support across leveraged finance, mergers and acquisitions, and real estate transactions. Managing the transaction lifecycle from initial agreements to exit, providing advice on targeted legal and regulatory matters and supervising the work of external counsel while at all times practicing commercial judgment alongside strong technical legal skills. Working across multiple industries and jurisdictions, you will collaborate with internal teams and external legal partners.

What You Offer

  • A qualified lawyer in one or more jurisdictions with a minimum post-admission experience of at least 6 years with the majority spent at a leading law firm.
  • In-house experience, particularly within credit or distressed debt funds, would also be beneficial, but not a pre-requisite.
  • In-depth working knowledge and significant expertise in leveraged finance, which could be in the form of private credit, syndicated loan or high yield experience.
  • Experience in any of the following would be beneficial: restructuring, M&A, litigation, real estate and/or debt trading.
  • Be able to collaborate effectively in a team as well as work well independently.
  • Proven ability to exercise practical, commercial judgment alongside strong technical legal skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and capability to deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines.
