Join the team building the cloud‑native platforms that power how our organisation accesses, manages and uses data. In this role, you design and evolve the strategic infrastructure behind our enterprise data ecosystem, creating tools and capabilities that make data reliable, discoverable and AI‑enabled for users across the organisation.
At Macquarie, our advantage is bringing together diverse people and empowering them to shape all kinds of possibilities. You’ll be part of a friendly and supportive team where everyone - no matter what role - contributes ideas and drives outcomes.
What role will you play?
As a Data Platform Engineer, you develop and maintain the core platform infrastructure that underpins tools such as Dataiku, Soda and Alation, ensuring they run securely, reliably and at scale. You design cloud‑native services and containerised workloads on Amazon EKS, optimise platform performance and resilience, and manage integrations that connect platform tools with underlying data systems. You build automation, CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure‑as‑code frameworks to streamline deployments and maintain consistent, well‑governed environments. Working directly with data scientists, analysts and business users, you help them make effective use of the platform, offering guidance, training and documentation that support adoption and best practices. You strengthen observability, metadata and catalogue capabilities, and shape the evolution of our platform through thoughtful enhancements informed by user feedback. You also explore AI and agentic capabilities that can improve user productivity and platform intelligence.
What you offer:
- Strong Python programming ability, with experience developing automation, platform utilities or integrations
- Hands‑on experience running containerised services on Amazon EKS or similar Kubernetes platforms
- Proficiency with AWS services, cloud CI/CD tooling and infrastructure‑as‑code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation
- Strong communication skills with the ability to support non‑technical users and contribute to a positive platform experience
We encourage you to apply if you’re excited about the role or working at Macquarie.
What we offer:
- 1 wellbeing leave day per year and a minimum of 25 days of annual leave.
