This six‑month internship gives you the opportunity to work alongside experienced colleagues on meaningful, real‑world transactions shaping the insurance sector across the UK, Europe and globally. You’ll build technical skills, contribute to live deals and gain hands‑on experience that may lead to a future role in our Financial Institutions Group.

What role will you play? Our Financial Institutions Group (FIG), part of Macquarie Capital, works with clients across the financial services sector with a broad range of services including buy and sell-side mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and debt advisory, allowing our clients to access capital, pursue strategic opportunities and deliver high-impact transactions. As an off-cycle intern, you will contribute to live transactions through financial analysis, company valuations and market research. Working alongside experienced professionals, you’ll develop technical and advisory skills through a range of activities including preparation of research and presentation materials, financial analysis and valuations for pitches or live deals. This off-cycle internship begins in September 2026, with the potential opportunity to be considered for a full-time analyst role upon completion.
What you offer:
- You are in your final year of university (bachelor’s or master’s), or graduated in the last year with an excellent academic record.
- A quick learner capable of performing in a less structured environment.
- Previous internship experience in private equity, M&A, or deal advisory at a reputable accountancy firm. Prior experience in FIG is an advantage.
- Intellectual curiosity, a proactive attitude and ability to work independently and flexibly, with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good understanding of basic accounting and valuation theory, methodologies and applications.
- Clear and confident communication skills with fluency in English; additional European languages are an advantage.
