We partner with leading global food brands to create high-quality products across sauces, bakery, ice cream toppings, and plant-based ranges. With continued growth, we’re looking for a Multi-Skilled Engineer to join our engineering team.

About the role

As a Multi-Skilled Engineer, you’ll play a key role in keeping our production lines running efficiently and safely. You’ll carry out both planned and reactive maintenance across a wide range of manufacturing equipment and site services. This is a hands-on role where you’ll be trusted to identify faults, take ownership, and see issues through to resolution.

Shift Pattern

Rotating 4-week pattern including days, nights, and weekends, with a full week off every month and regular blocks of time off throughout. You would receive 8.5% shift allowance on top of base salary. This pattern offers a great balance of working days and extended rest periods.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out maintenance, repair, and servicing of production equipment and site services
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical faults
  • Support installation and commissioning of new equipment
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records using CMMS (IFS)
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety, food safety, and quality standards (BRC)
  • Support continuous improvement and engineering projects
  • Manage and monitor spare parts where required

Requirements

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Formal engineering qualification, preferable apprentice trained/time served in your chosen discipline (Mechanical/Electrical)

Skills:

  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Able to work on own initiative with minimum supervision
  • Monitoring/prioritising workload to achieve targets
  • High attention to detail
  • Pragmatic measured approach to problem solving
  • Able to organise work to meet quality standards and deadlines
  • Able to work as a team
  • Able to work under pressure
  • Good knowledge of Mechanical/Electrical Engineering

Desirable skills or experience:

  • Working knowledge of steam/pressure systems advantageous but not essential
  • Any maintenance of food equipment experience would be advantageous but not essential
  • Experience of working in a food manufacturing environment
