Macphie Ltd, a renowned family-owned ingredient manufacturer based in Aberdeenshire with additional sites in Glasgow and Midlands, is seeking a dynamic and strategic Finance Business Partner to join our team. We produce an extensive range of high-quality products including sauces, bakery ingredients, ice cream toppings, plant-based, and gluten-free solutions, proudly supplying some of the world’s leading food brands.

As a Finance Business Partner, you will work closely with operational teams to provide insightful financial analysis, support strategic decision-making, and drive business performance. You will act as a trusted advisor, translating financial data into actionable insights to maximise profitability and efficiency across the business. This role will be based at our Glenbervie site and is ideal for a proactive finance professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and is eager to contribute to the continued growth and success of Macphie.

Responsibilities

  • Provide financial support and guidance to business units, partnering with leadership to drive operational decisions.
  • Develop and analyse budgets, forecasts, and financial plans to ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Perform financial modelling and scenario analysis to assess potential business opportunities and risks.
  • Monitor business performance against targets and key performance indicators, identifying variances and implementing corrective actions.
  • Support month-end and year-end financial reporting processes and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operation leaders and their teams and deliver relevant financial insights.
  • Lead initiatives to improve financial processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Prepare management reports and presentations for senior management and stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Qualified Accountant with appropriate post-qualification experience.
  • Proven experience as a finance business partner or similar role within manufacturing or FMCG sectors, preferably food industry.
  • Strong financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and build relationships across all levels.
  • Proficient in finance systems and MS Excel; experience with ERP systems (e.g., IFS) is advantageous.
  • Highly organised, detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Business acumen and a proactive approach to solve challenges and drive continuous improvement.
