Join our Team at Macphie, a renowned family ingredient manufacturer based in Glenbervie, Aberdeenshire, seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Team Lead for our Operations department. We are known for innovative, high‑quality products, including sauces, bakery ingredients, and ice‑cream toppings, catering to a global clientele.

About The Role

Reporting to the Shift Manager, you will oversee daily operational activities and manage team performance to ensure optimal productivity. Your leadership will guide the operational workflow from raw‑material management to production execution, while adhering to the highest standards of quality and safety. Working shift pattern is Monday to Friday on a weekly rotation of an early shift (06:00‑14:30) and a late shift (14:00‑22:30).

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, inspire, and mentor team members to achieve operational excellence
  • Conduct regular training sessions to enhance team skills and knowledge of processes
  • Carry out cleaning schedules in the production and packaging area, ensuring a high standard and audit readiness
  • Foster a collaborative and motivating environment that encourages teamwork

Operational Excellence

  • Oversee daily operations, ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures
  • Implement and enhance processes for maximized efficiency and minimal waste
  • Monitor operational KPIs and drive improvements to meet targets
  • Communicate effectively with other departments to facilitate smooth operations and resolve issues

Quality & Safety Standards

  • Ensure strict adherence to health and safety regulations across the operations
  • Conduct regular quality checks and maintain a culture of continuous improvement
  • Promote and uphold the company’s commitment to quality assurance throughout the operational chain

Additional Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Shift Manager on strategic planning and process improvements
  • Handle any other reasonable duties as assigned by the Shift Manager

Requirements

Experience & Qualifications

  • FMCG experience preferred
  • Problem analysis and problem‑solving skills
  • Past experience working in a busy production/delivery environment is an added advantage
  • Strong communication and listening skills – both written and verbal
  • Confident in use of computerised systems
