The role can be based at either our Glenbervie, Aberdeenshire or Uddingston, Glasgow site, and we are also open to considering hybrid working arrangements.

About the Role

We are currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Master Data & Governance Lead to join our team. In this critical role, you will oversee master data management and governance to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and compliance throughout the organisation. You will work closely with multiple departments to establish and enforce data standards and best practices that support business objectives and enhance decision-making processes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of master data management strategies and governance frameworks.
  • Ensure data quality, consistency, and integrity across all business-critical systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish data standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Manage the lifecycle of master data including creation, maintenance, and archiving.
  • Monitor compliance with data governance policies and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide training and support to staff on data governance best practices.
  • Work closely with IT, Finance, Operations, and Supply Chain teams to align data management with organisational goals.
  • Identify and mitigate data-related risks and issues.
  • Support reporting and audit requirements relating to data governance and accuracy.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in master data management and data governance roles, preferably within manufacturing or FMCG sectors.
  • Strong understanding of data management principles, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Experience with ERP systems and data integration tools; knowledge of IFS is advantageous.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and problem-solving.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across departments.
  • Ability to develop and enforce data governance policies and standards.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.
  • Organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • A relevant degree or professional qualification in data management, information systems, or related fields is desirable.
