Macphie Ltd, a renowned family‑owned ingredient manufacturer based in Aberdeenshire with additional sites in Glasgow and Midlands, is seeking a dynamic and strategic Finance Business Partner to join our team. We produce an extensive range of high‑quality products including sauces, bakery ingredients, ice cream toppings, plant‑based, and gluten‑free solutions, proudly supplying some of the world’s leading food brands.

As a Finance Business Partner, you will work closely with operational teams to provide insightful financial analysis, support strategic decision‑making, and drive business performance. You will act as a trusted advisor, translating financial data into actionable insights to maximise profitability and efficiency across the business. This role will be based at our Glenbervie site and is ideal for a proactive finance professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and is eager to contribute to the continued growth and success of Macphie.

Responsibilities

  • Provide financial support and guidance to business units, partnering with leadership to drive operational decisions.
  • Develop and analyse budgets, forecasts, and financial plans to ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Perform financial modelling and scenario analysis to assess potential business opportunities and risks.
  • Monitor business performance against targets and key performance indicators, identifying variances and implementing corrective actions.
  • Support month‑end and year‑end financial reporting processes and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including operation leaders and their teams and deliver relevant financial insights.
  • Lead initiatives to improve financial processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Prepare management reports and presentations for senior management and stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Accountant with appropriate post‑qualification experience.
  • Proven experience as a finance business partner or similar role within manufacturing or FMCG sectors, preferably food industry.
  • Strong financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and build relationships across all levels.
  • Proficient in finance systems and MS Excel; experience with ERP systems (e.g., IFS) is advantageous.
  • Highly organised, detail‑oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Business acumen and a proactive approach to solve challenges and drive continuous improvement.
