The role We have an exciting opportunity to join our leadership team on the night shift in the role of Team Leader. The role will work closely with the other members of the night shift leadership team on shift (8) and hold shared and specific responsibilities within the Bulk (pallet and pack storage) and order finishing/dispatch functions, reporting to the Senior Team Leader. There will be three direct reports and indirect responsibility for 20+ team members on any given day so the ability to lead and motivate a team is key to success in this role. Within the department, there are several key responsibilities that support the bulk and finishing operations which have to work fluidly in order to achieve our service levels so, as a Team Leader, time management and the ability to prioritise are paramount. This also means the ability to analyse, consider and manage information quickly and make effective decisions in order to meet customer demands. There are always opportunities to improve and make change within the department for internal and external benefit so the role needs someone with a keen eye for improvements and having the ability to influence and make this happen are important. The person We are looking for an established people leader with a minimum of two years’ experience of leading a team of at least five people. You will have experience in a fast paced and people focused role in a similar environment. Working on a shift with over 70 people during peak periods, you will need to be a great listener and be able to process information and make decisions quickly, whilst managing expectations of others. The successful individual will be confident in their ability to communicate as there will be diverse demands including briefing teams, attending and documenting meetings, dealing with others around the business, and being part of change initiatives. This also means that PC literacy is a necessity. Hours of work 37.5 hours per week between 8pm to 6am Sunday to Thursday (8-hour shifts), and between 6pm to 6am during September-December.
