Macmillan Davies are delighted to be working exclusively with a respected Wrexham employer to appoint a Senior HR Advisor - a role that sits right at the heart of people leadership within a busy, fast-moving operation. If you’re a well-rounded HR generalist who thrives on connection, influence and bringing out the best in others, this could be the challenge you’ve been waiting for. This is not a "behind the desk" HR role. You’ll be out in the business, building trust, strengthening capability, and helping managers feel confident and supported.
You’ll take the lead on complex employee relations matters, shape policy, champion engagement and EDI activity, and play a key part in developing managers through an established leadership programme. You’ll also act as a key deputy to the HR Manager, offering breadth, autonomy and room to grow.
What You’ll Be Getting Involved In
- Partnering & Presence - Become a go-to advisor for managers across the site - providing proactive guidance, using data to spot trends, and ensuring the people agenda aligns with operational needs.
- Coaching & Manager Capability - Support and develop line managers through ongoing coaching and by delivering structured leadership training. You’ll help embed consistent, fair and confident people practices.
- Employee Relations Leadership - Take ownership of complex ER cases - absence, disciplinary, grievance and performance - guiding managers through the process with clarity, fairness and legal awareness.
- Policy, Process & Compliance - Champion consistent policy application, help refine HR documentation, and ensure alignment with legislation and union agreements.
- Workforce Planning & Talent Support - Get involved in succession planning, recruitment activity and wider people planning - supporting the operation to build stability and future capability.
- Projects, Culture & Improvement - Lead key HR initiatives including engagement programmes, EDI activity, policy improvements and absence-reduction projects. Provide meaningful people insights and contribute to a culture that’s already in a strong place and ready for further development.
About you
We’re seeking a strong HR Advisor with solid generalist experience and the confidence to influence stakeholders at all levels. Experience in a unionised manufacturing environment is highly advantageous. This role is ideal for someone who is:
- Curious, proactive and ready to bring fresh ideas
- Skilled at building relationships and trust quickly
- Calm and resilient when handling complex cases
- Confident communicating across diverse teams
- Strong in employment law and HR policy knowledge
A CIPD qualification (or equivalent HR education) is preferred.
What is on offer
Salary: £43,000 - £47,000 + annual bonus. Benefits include: Gym membership, up to 12.5% employer pension contribution, generous annual leave. Full-time or part-time hours considered, flexibility available on start and finish times.
