Macmillan Davies is pleased to partner with a hospitality client to recruit an experienced ER Consultant for a 3-month contract. This role is ideal for professionals with a background in employment relations who can hit the ground running and deliver effective support in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and assess grievance and complaint cases through the case management system, categorising by severity using a criteria matrix. This involves daily case analysis to determine appropriate case tiering.
- Conduct weekly progress calls with external HR and legal partners to monitor and track the status of ongoing investigations.
- Evaluate investigation reports and draft outcome correspondence, summarising findings for complainants, including letters of no further action and letters of concern. Identify key recommendations and present them clearly in a user-friendly format.
- Prepare disciplinary documentation as needed, including drafting invitation letters and redacting meeting notes for disciplinary packs.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders, ensuring smooth collaboration across teams.
- Contribute to weekly team meetings by identifying and raising patterns and trends observed in case management.
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum of 10+ years’ legal experience, with a strong focus on Employment Law.
- Proven experience in managing Employment Tribunal claims and providing legal support for complex employee relations matters.
- Expertise in drafting legal documents, including employment contracts, policies, and settlement agreements.
- In-depth knowledge of Equality Act legislation and other key employment laws.
- Strong ability to provide strategic, practical advice across multiple sectors, delivering effective solutions.
