Macmillan Davies is partnering with a London railway company to identify a proactive and experienced Employee Relations Consultant to join the HR team for an initial 6-month period This role plays a critical part in managing and maintaining effective relationships with trade unions and supporting positive employee relations across the organisation.

You will need to have vast experience of handling complex employee relations cases and have worked in a pure ER capacity in your career.

The expectation will be 3 days onsite in the London office and 2 from home, although this could be flexible dependent on circumstances.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a key liaison between the company and the trade union, supporting collective bargaining and consultation processes.
  • Provide expert advice to managers on employee relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance, and performance issues.
  • Support the development and implementation of ER strategies aligned with business objectives and legal requirements.
  • Lead or support negotiations and consultations on pay, terms and conditions, and organisational change.
  • Ensure ER policies and practices are compliant with UK employment law and relevant railway industry standards.

This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong ER background to come in and make an immediate impact, engage managers and increase the capability across the business.

Some very occasional travel may be required.
