Overview

In this role you will be responsible for developing, planning, executing and evaluating projects in our Strategic Change portfolio – ensuring alignment to the wider vision and strategic direction of Macmillan and maintaining a focus on outcomes. You will be working collaboratively with Business Leads across Macmillan, you will define the project\’s objectives and drive progress throughout its life cycle. The role will be deployed flexibly in line with organisational priorities, managing standalone projects, and projects within complex, cross-organisational change programmes, to agreed time, cost and quality criteria. This role requires candidates to have demonstrable experience of operating in a very similar or comparable role.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrable experience of initiating, leading, planning and executing projects and project teams to deliver within a large, complex organisation.
  • Recognised project management qualification and experience of applying waterfall and agile delivery approaches to complex projects. Change management and/or business analysis qualifications and experience would also be desirable.
  • Experience of developing robust and concise business cases including options appraisals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
  • Demonstrable analytical and problem-solving skills, flexing and adapting to changing circumstances.
  • Preferable experience of managing projects involving procurement, technology implementation, people change, service development and process improvement.
  • Experience of matrix managing project teams.

Qualifications

  • Proven track record in delivering projects within large, complex organisations using both waterfall and agile approaches.
  • Relevant project management qualification and related change management or business analysis qualifications are desirable.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
