We are currently seeking a Financial Accountant to provide technical support to the Accounting and Tax team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Financial lead for Macmillan’s trading subsidiary
- Raffle and lottery accounting and financial compliance
- Ongoing monitoring of the monthly balance sheet reconciliation and bank accounts
- Supporting with the preparation of the Charity and group accounts
- Assisting in the production of the Annual Report and Accounts
- Support with the preparation of various external returns
- Being point of contact for all financial accounting issues; internal queries, external queries, including auditors, regulators and advisors
- Ensuring appropriate VAT reporting
- Production of auditable financial statements, other accounts and statistical returns
- Interpretation of technical accounting policies and applicable standards including charity specific requirements
- Delivery of year end and other ad hoc tasks to deadline
We’re looking for someone with the following skills and experience:
- Accountancy Qualification – CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent
- Strong technical accounting skills
- Good awareness of charity accounting and compliance
- An awareness of internal control requirements
- A good knowledge of MS Excel, including pivot tables, look ups and formulae
- Experience in liaising with non-financial staff and third parties
This role requires a minimum of one day per week in our London office. During audit periods, London attendance is required more often, typically 2-3 times per week.
