Location: Mobile Worker (Expected to be able to travel large areas and be willing to be deployed on projects anywhere in UK).
Salary Range: £55,000 – £61,000 + car allowance

About the role:
As Development Lead you will drive significant and sustainable impact for people with cancer by building and nurturing strategic partnerships with local systems. Your role will focus on identifying opportunities to collaborate with a range of stakeholders to develop strategically aligned, time-limited and outcome driven place-based models and interventions, designed to be taken to scale or build evidence in order to achieve systemic change. You will lead a team based across the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders to develop new system transformation opportunities that meet Macmillan’s strategic objectives – implementing robust development plans, including analysis of need, key stakeholders, opportunities to transform, and strategic alignment with local system and community priorities.
- Foster open dialogue and share learning and best practice with partners to enhance collaboration and improve outcomes for people with cancer.
- Work with local systems, including health and care leaders and communities to identify and catalyse opportunities to address inequities and experience of the local population and system challenges.
- Embed collaborative decision-making processes to develop and implement solutions that address shared goals and negotiate the initiation of contracts and partnerships to maximise impact.
- Build networks of change makers to advance a common purpose, learning communities, and keep stakeholders engaged and motivated over time.
- Set the direction, inspire and lead a team focussed on catalysing and implementing systemic change.
About you:
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills and experience:
- Experience of using a powerful, common vision to energise and inspire system leaders, partners, professionals and communities to work differently.
- Proven track record in building strategic partnerships and networks; and excellent interpersonal skills to build working relationships with a wide range of senior stakeholders and coalitions.
- Experience of leading cross functional teams and delivering through a matrix organisation.
- Experience of building and sustaining effective networks to create change.
- Proven ability to think creatively and strategically to develop innovative partnerships and solutions that have led to significant change.
- High degree of personal and professional credibility and integrity; independence in decision making and a demeanour that secures the confidence of others quickly.
- Understanding the complexities of the health and care system, including funding models, regulatory frameworks, and patient pathways and an understanding that system change is messy and unpredictable and not linear.
- Expert knowledge of system change and system and design thinking methodologies.
- Full UK drivers\’ licence or ability to travel for work.
