One of Macmillan's significant programmes of work over the next 5 years is Neighbourhood Health Transformation. We are looking for a Clinical Fellow who will develop and help strengthen neighbourhood-level rehabilitation pathways for people with cancer and other long‑term conditions.
Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver a defined programme of work focused on community rehabilitation for people with cancer and other long‑term conditions.
- Generate insight into the experiences, outcomes and inequalities affecting people with cancer and other long‑term conditions.
- Map and assess exemplar services and models of care across the UK.
- Develop practical tools and guidance to support clinicians (e.g., communication, consent, decision‑making, future care planning).
- Build partnerships with wider system stakeholders and organisations.
- Engage with clinicians, people with lived experience and carers to inform your work.
- Influence national thinking and contribute to improving integrated pathways.
- Produce high‑quality outputs, including reports, resources and recommendations.
- Represent Macmillan externally and contribute to wider clinical and system leadership work.
Qualifications
- Registered Allied Health Professional.
- Expertise and a strong interest in community rehabilitation for people with cancer and other long‑term conditions.
- Experience of clinical leadership, service improvement or system working.
- Ability to work at a regional or national level and build effective professional networks.
- Passion for tackling inequalities and improving patient and carer experience.
- Strong analytical, communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to translate evidence and insight into best‑practice guidance from reviewing evidence from different approaches of community rehabilitation and contemporary service models.
Contract & Working Conditions
- Contract type: 12‑month fixed term contract or secondment.
- Part time: 2 days a week (0.4 FTE), one of which must be Wednesday.
- Location: Hybrid to our London office – must be available to work on Wednesdays each week and attend monthly in‑person team meetings in London on the 1st Wednesday of each month, with potential travel across the UK depending on business needs.
- Salary range: Up to £65,000 FTE (+ London weighting where applicable) depending on experience and/or current NHS pay grade.
