We are actively recruiting a Support Worker (38.5 - 44 hours) to provide additional support within our well-established Mental Health unit, the Galway Suite. The successful candidate will use their compassion and clinical experience to help deliver exceptional levels of resident care to individuals who have a variety of mental health conditions. This role is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the mental health field while working in a supportive and dynamic team.

About this role

  • Experience working within a mental health environment.
  • Good working knowledge of The Mental Health Order (1986).
  • An understanding of current approaches to mental health practice.
  • Ability to collaborate with a challenging resident group positively.
  • Ensuring care plans are comprehensive and understandable by the resident.
  • Supporting, encouraging, and prompting residents with their medication.
  • Accurately maintain documentation both manually and electronically.
  • Ensure house rules are kept and adhered to, providing a safe environment.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, residents, and visitors.
  • Assisting residents with booking and attending appointments.
  • Support residents in daily tasks: self-care, shopping, and household tasks.
  • Promoting residents to develop their skills and increase their independence.
